    I usually use Helicore strings because I play Irish and Old Time music. I wasn’t liking the sound of one of my fiddles and decided to try the Prims. I like them a lot—this fiddle needs a focused sound, and these provide that. They have a nice, rich tone on this fiddle. SW Strings is always great, with good prices and a quick turn around.

  4. Not the quality I'm used to

    I have purchased Prim violin strings from Southwest Strings for 30 years. This is the first time that I have been disappointed. Southwest performed magnificently, getting my strings to me very quickly – as always you have been a pleasure to deal with. Prim, on the other hand was not up to snuff. some of the strings appeared to be corroded and didn’t play as smoothly as they have in the past. I have worked at cleaning them up, using alcohol swabs (sold as diabetes supplies), with some success. I will try Prims again, but if the same problem arises I will look into other brands you carry.

    prim strings are the 1st choice for old time fiddlers even fractional sizes are really responsive
