The Warchal Amber string set has been developed with the aim of achieving the sound qualities of the best gut strings without any tuning instabilities. The set features W-Core®, a completely new core material developed by the Warchal Research; Development team. The sound is rich and warm, but with depth and texture.
The Amber E string is based on Warchal’s newest research. The composition of the core increases the longitudinal elasticity of the string, which results in a significant sound improvement. The Amber E string, while plain steel, offers a warmer sound and no whistling.

This E string is amazing. No more squeaking at all. Have been told to work on my technique for past 20 years but just changing to this new string fixed the issue.

I like them! They have a good rich sound with a little more clarity that the Obligatos I had been using. And they are cheaper. The cost of strings keeps going up so price is (unfortunately) a factor.

So i just wanna say that everyone talks about how the E string doesn’t whistle but keep in mind if you use your bow wrong it will whistle. I particularly enjoy the tone of the E string and the projection is surprisingly good. Paired with the Avantgarde A string (also made of metal) this is a powerful upper string combo. My next set I’ll go for the Thomastik-Infield Rondo A and E but i am pleasantly surprised with this e string and might end up coming back to it. The thread binding at the tailpiece is also white which i loooove. 10/10 would buy again.
